How to read a signal
- Entry: at the open of the next candle after the signal. Signals marked "limit" fill only if price comes back to that level, otherwise they are cancelled.
- Stop: if price touches the stop, the whole position closes for a fixed loss of 1R.
- Take half: when price reaches this level, half the position is closed and the stop on the rest moves to the entry price, so the worst case becomes break-even.
- Target: the remaining half closes here. Maximum holding time is about 5-10 trading days (about 5 for 1-hour signals, 10 for 4-hour signals), after which the position closes at the market.
- Strong: a higher-conviction signal.
- Exit style · Scale out: every swing signal exits in two parts: take half off at the take-half price, then move the stop on the rest to entry.
- R: the risk unit of a signal, the distance from entry to stop. For example, short gold at 4000 with a stop at 4020: 1R is 20 points; a stop-out is −1R and a 60-point gain is +3R. "Half profit, rest at break-even" counts as a win.
- Risk-reward: target distance ÷ stop distance. Risk-reward 1:3 means risking 1 to make 3.
- Points: result R × entry-to-stop distance, after spreads. Forex in pips (1 pip = 0.0001, 0.01 for yen pairs); gold, silver, indices and commodities in price points (4000 to 4020 is 20 pts); crypto and US stocks in US dollars.
- In money: if every signal risks $100 (1R = $100), an average of +0.17R per signal means about $17 per signal.
How to place a signal
Split one signal into two equal orders with the same entry and stop: order 1 takes profit at the "take half" price, order 2 at the target. Once order 1 takes profit, move order 2's stop to the entry price so it is break-even at worst. If neither level is hit by the maximum holding time, close at the market.

The backtest simulates historical prices (Mar 2024 to Oct 2026) after spreads, counting a stop first whenever a candle touches both stop and target; the six-month look-back uses our live quotes.
