The dollar against the yen is caught between two possible paths.
October 14, on the 15 minute chart, the dollar yen confirmed a double top today.
A double top is price rejected twice from the same area.
The low between those rejections is the neckline.
The neckline is 158.247, and confirmation came only on a close below it.
From here, two levels decide what stays valid: the measured target at 157.982 and invalidation at 158.524.
The pattern is still open, and neither level has been hit yet.
A close beyond 158.524 would cancel it.
A pattern never guarantees its target, and the same shape fails just as often.
