How is the spread cost calculated?

Monthly cost = spread × value per 1.0 price move per lot × lots × trades per day × trading days per month. Commission, swap and slippage are separate.

Why does a small spread matter?

Because it is paid on every trade. A scalper taking many trades pays it many times, and a small edge can disappear into costs.

Does the calculator include commission and swap?

No. It isolates the spread so you can see that cost clearly; add commission and swap separately for the full picture.
